Privacy Policy

Effective 8 June 2026.

This document is written in good faith and kept current with how the studio actually operates. It is provided for transparency, not as legal advice; for a binding interpretation, please consult qualified counsel.

Who we are

Lin Wong is the studio practice of the artist Shirleen Andrea Wong, selling original abstract paintings and a small set of limited-edition prints. The studio is located in Semer, Bali, Indonesia. The business behind the Lin Wong brand and linwong.com is Cloudless Consulting Pty Ltd (ABN 29 636 444 463), an Australian company, which is the entity responsible for the personal information described here.

If you have any question about this policy or your personal information, you can reach us at lin@linwong.com.

What we collect

When you send an inquiry through the site, we collect the details you provide and a small amount of context that travels with the submission:

  • Your name, email address, and country.
  • The message you write to us.
  • Whether you have asked to receive occasional studio updates (your marketing preference).
  • Which artwork or collection your inquiry was about, so we can reply in context.
  • Basic attribution details where present, such as the campaign tags (UTM parameters) in the link you arrived through.

Beyond this — and the limited technical data described under Cookies and analytics below — we do not knowingly collect more, and we do not ask you to create an account to browse the catalogue or to inquire about a piece.

Why we collect it

We use your inquiry to reply to you, to discuss availability, pricing, and shipping, and to complete a sale you have asked us to help with. For buyers in the UK, EU, and similar jurisdictions, the legal basis for this is our legitimate interest in responding to your inquiry and taking steps toward a possible transaction.

We only send marketing — occasional updates from the studio — if you have explicitly opted in by ticking the box on the form. That is a separate choice, made on the basis of your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time. Inquiring about a piece never signs you up for marketing.

How it is handled and where it goes

We keep the studio small and the toolset small. A handful of reputable providers process inquiry data on our behalf:

  • Your inquiry is transmitted to and processed by Amazon Web Services (AWS Lambda, Sydney region, ap-southeast-2) and stored in a Neon PostgreSQL database (Singapore region, ap-southeast-1).
  • We send you an automated acknowledgement email through Amazon SES; replies from the studio are sent and received through a mailbox on Google Workspace.
  • The website itself is served through Cloudflare.
  • If you opt into studio updates, your email address is added to a list managed by MailerLite, used only to send the updates you asked for.

These providers process your information on our behalf and under our instructions. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for unrelated purposes.

International transfers

Because we ship worldwide and use the providers above, your information may be processed outside the country you live in — for example in Australia, Singapore, or the United States. Where information is transferred across borders, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected to a standard consistent with this policy.

Cookies and analytics

We keep the site light. Your browser may store small amounts of data needed for the site to function. As the studio grows, we use or may introduce privacy-conscious analytics to understand how the site is used — for example, which pages are viewed — and measurement or advertising tools from platforms such as Pinterest to understand and improve how people discover the work. These may set cookies or similar identifiers, and they may involve your device and connection details, including your IP address, being processed by us and by our providers such as Cloudflare and Amazon Web Services for security, delivery, and measurement.

Where the law requires your consent before non-essential cookies are set, we will seek it, and you can control cookies through your browser settings. We will keep this section current as these tools are introduced.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiries and customer records for as long as there is an active or prospective relationship — while we are in conversation about a piece, fulfilling an order, or keeping the records a small business reasonably needs. If you would like your information removed, email us at lin@linwong.com and we will delete it where we are not required to keep it.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you access to the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. You can withdraw your consent to marketing at any time, either by using the unsubscribe link in any studio update or by emailing us. These rights are available to you under the Australian Privacy Principles and, for eligible users, the GDPR. To exercise any of them, email lin@linwong.com.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information: data is transmitted over encrypted connections, access is limited to those who need it, and we rely on established, reputable providers to store and process it. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, and we do not claim certifications we do not hold, but we treat your information with care.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the studio and its tools evolve. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here rather than announced separately.
